Women's Gymnastics RED WHITE & BLUE!

So I am attending the women's gymnastics Olympic trials this week here in San Jose, CA.  I was a gymnast growing up and I coached it for 16 years!  So needless to say, I kinda like it.  hehe.  I've attended quite a few senior gymnastics events in my lifetime and nothing compares to Olympics events.  It is so exciting because everyone is throwing their hardest tricks and pushing themselves to the limit!  Anyhoo, this is my entry into the SC Red, White & Blue challenge.  This digi is retired now I think but her name was 'Gymnastics'.  Hope you like her!!

Copic Marker Europe Krista Smith Image and Challenge

Thank you Krista and Copic Marker Europe Blog for the free digis.  I love this one by Krista.  She's been colored for a while but I haven't had time to put the card together.  Waiting to see where to put her up for the challenge.  Even though we can't enter to win, putting the card in was a requirement to get the digi.  I think it's worth it!  Can't wait to see Angie's.  I'm sure she will astound me.

The website is Copic Marker Europe.  Email them to ask for the free images.  Remember, you must enter a card into celebration challenge!

Lily - Keep in Touch

My friend, Lily, whom I have turned into a scrappin' monster, has recently left my work place and gone to another company.  So I miss her fabulous sense of humor, her craziness and her VERY KEEN understanding of my craft disease.  (If you are reading this, you understand this disease).  So I've taken Krista's Secrets image and and made this cute card for Lily.  It will give me an excuse to see her soon.  You'll have to excuse my picture taking skills with the iPhone.  Obviously I could use a lesson or two on using the iPhone camera as well as coloring black hair.  Black is so hard to color...I think I'll practice that this weekend.  Anyway, Miss you Lily.  See you soon!

SC Ani and a Happy Father's Day!

Today I finally finished a card I started over a week ago when I was still at my sister's.  I think she is so cute.  I always have trouble coloring black hair but I think I'm getting a little better.  Her name is Ani and of course she's another Saturated Canary image.

Happy Birthday Katelyn

Happy Birthday to my daughter Katelyn.  I may not see her today but I made her a card to let her know I love her no matter what.  The stamp is called "Let Them Eat Cake" from wwww.sugarnellie.com.  Isn't she sweet looking?

Happy B-day to me with discounted digi day!

Today did not start off as a particularly special dayI mean yes, today IS my birthday, but as you get older they seem to just run into the other days. Luckily today was Saturday so I did get to spend the entire day with my hubz which is always a treat.  Plus he is so sweet and has a way of making almost everyday feel like my birthday!  Sappy I know, but true.   I'm a lucky girl.

But something special did happen this morning.   I was surfing blogland and facebook and found that my absolute favorite stamp artist was having a sale on all her digi stamps!!  Her name is Krista Smith and the sale is  30% off your total purchase for any purchase over $12!!  Ha! Ha!  When have I ever spent less than $12 in her shop??  Neva!!  What a special birthday present to me!!  Let's just say I dropped some greenbacks!  LOL!! And so did my sis!   Thank you Krista!  If you would like to get in on this great discount you can get your own over at her shop at saturated-canary.myshopify.com .   If you're not familiar with her stamps you should definitely check them out!  They are some of the cutest, sweetest images you'll ever see.

No finished projects to post today since we were out and about celebrating but I will have one  tomorrowLook for it!

Happy Birthday Sis!

Today is my sister's birthday.  She was just here last week but I miss her already.  My sister and my daughter have birthdays one day apart.  So tomorrow is my only child's 20th birthday.

A lot has transpired in one week and a very heart breaking event has taken place between my daughter and me.  I know it's not the first time it's ever happened to a mother and daughter.  But this momma is struggling with the tough love.  It is time she grows up.  She has left my home, and I am heart sick.  No that isn't even the word for it.  I can truly say that I am devastated.  So as I struggle to maintain my stance in this as I know a good mom should, my husband stands by to give me strength, and I try to keep busy.

So Angie, I've made cupcakes for you and Katelyn.  I know you can't eat any, but it's the thought that counts.  Here they are!  I love you and am so glad you are my sister.

Jo

Presents in June

Hey Sis!  Well today the mail "lady" brought me a couple of goodies.  The first is something I ordered quite a while ago.  It was shipped on May 27 and just got here today.  We were waiting all last week while you were here for it to arrive.  My goodness.  But I love it and it's on the back of my scrapbooking door now.  I'm going to have to get Tracy to build some more in the future (when we get our new house built).  But for now I am quite happy getting these punches out of my drawers.  What do you think?

Also, of all weird things...the Lime Tart Copic Resource Manual came in.  Hmmm...let me see.  I ordered it last week, it came from out of the country...AND it came on the same day as the punch holder.  Wonders never cease.  I love it and can't wait to start reading through it.  For those of you that want to see what I'm talking about, go to Lime Tart and look up Copic resource manual.  Angie brought this to my home last week and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!!!  Yay!

Peace for the Fourth of July

Looking forward to Fourth of July and I've used Krista Smith's Hippie Love digi from Saturated Canary to get me into the spirit of it!  I think she's really cute and decided to make her hair red...it seems to fit this theme for some reason. Hope you like her!

Incidentally, Krista just posted a Challenge for Red, White and Blue...so now she's going into the rest of the wonderful artist submissions!!!  I love seeing all the ideas, don't you?

My Final Day and Some Cute Canaries

Well my final day to just play around and papercraft with my sister has come.  It's been a great day.  You know, one of those where you barely get out of your pajamas or do anything like... hygienal? LOL!   Those are the best days sometimes.  But tomorrow I will be going back home to the real world.  But it's been great spending time here with my sis, my brother-in-law, and my niece.  Very low key and laid back.  Ahhhhhh...

Now for my entries today I have 2 Saturated Canary images.  The first is "Cali girl" and she is TAN!!  Had a little trouble with the deep skin tone and the clouds but I think she turned out okay!  Hope you like her!

My next little canary is "Gymnastics" and I made her to go into my iPhone case.  I think she is quite fitting for the upcoming 2012 London Olympics.  I'm actually attending the US Gymnastics Olympic Trials at the end of the month in my current home, San Jose.  Very excited!!

Almost Time to Say Goodbye

Well it's the last day with my sister before she leaves to go home to California tomorrow.  Sniff Sniff.  Today we plan to just color and play in the scrap book room.  I'm working on a fourth of July card that hopefully I'll post later today!

I've spent some painstaking time trying to figure out how to work this blog thing out as far as looks.  Still trying to understand it, but for now I'm putting it away and playing with my paper and markers.  Angie made a cute summer card last night while I was working on the blog.  I'm sure she'll post it soon!  Stay tuned for it!  More Krista....  can you tell that we both love her?

Cheers!

Happy Mother's Day!

This post contains two Mother's Day cards I made this year.  The is one of
my favorite images from Saturated Canary and she is called "Multitasking Mama".
She is so stinking cute I can't stand it!!

This was made for Amy, who is one of my best friends.  I love this mama's hair and the
fact that she has some baby spit up on her shirt is priceless.

I made two of these cards.  One with black hair and one with brown.  The image
is a Sylvia Zet stamp called "Spring Bringer".  One was for my mother and
the second was made for a friend to give to her mother.  I used
flower soft to give the flowers a more real feel.

LOTV Wedding Card

This was a card I made for a co-worker married on April Fool's!!  Pretty
intricate but fun to make!  The image is a LOTV stamp and I just love it!

Lots of dies used on this one!

This sentiment is from JustRite Stampers.

Inside of card with lots of places for all my coworkers to sign!

I apologize I couldn't get this picture to rotate but it is the envelobox
I made for the card.

A Sweet Little Valentine

These 3 photos are from a card I made this past Valentines Day but have never posted.  She is one of Krista's Sassy Girls and I think she is so adorable.  I didn't actually make this one for my hubby though.  I made it for a co-worker to give to his wife.  She loves everything Paris and she absolutely loved this card!

Graduation Boy

Well...it's true what my sister, Angie posted.  And it's here for anyone to see.  No posts since November.  I'm a miserable failure at this blogging thing.  But hopefully the two of us will do better moving forward.  Angie makes beautiful, beautiful cards, and I look forward to seeing her creations here.

As for now, I just finished a graduation card for a special and dear friend of my daughter.  She loves him very much.  Their school colors are orange and black.  WOW - how do you make a card for a BOY that doesn't look too frilly and girly...AND use orange and black that doesn't look like Halloween.  That was my challenge.  While my daughter, Katelyn, and I don't think Lance will truly appreciate the time spent on this card, we do figure his mother and sister will enjoy it.  Ha!  I also have ulterior motives to post this to a challenge on Krista Smith's blog.  She is the amazing artist who created the Graduation Boy image.  LOVE HER work.  You can get Graduation Boy at https://saturated-canary.myshopify.com/.

In the meantime, enjoy!

Followup to this card...apparently I shouldn't assemble late at night or in this case, early in the morning (around 2 am).  Neither my sister, daughter or I caught that I reversed the numbers in the year.  My dyslexia kicked in for me to honor this card.  Oh well, it's the thought that counts.

Jo

Happy BD to my Katie Bug!!

So a long time ago my sister and I were going to start this blog
as a place for us to share cards we had made since we live so far apart.
Well that was over 6 months ago and this is my very first post.  LOL!!
Funny how life always gets in the way!  She had quite a few posts
in the beginning but hasn't been able to post for a while either.
But there's no time like the present as I am here visiting her in Indiana!

This adorable Saturated Canary image  is called "Party Hardy".
She is from the very talented artist Krista Smith and we love
everything she does!!

It was made for my niece who I call Katie bug.  She's my only niece
on my side of the family and I love her so so much!!

I extended the bunting banner off of the actual image to add Katie's name.
The roses I made and covered with Stickles.
